Cam Comparison: BCIII+ vs. S2S1
My BCIII+'s cam in yesterday. I haven't had an opportunity to fully "map" the cam lobe profiles for both cams, but I did manage to document cam lobe lift for all the different lobes. They are as following with lobe 3 being the VTEC lobe. I will post up photo comparisons and cam lobe map comparisons in the next week or two.
One thing to note which I have not seen in any other aftermarket cams is notic how aggressive the lifts are on the exhaust compared to the milder lifts on the intake. Rare do the exhaust lifts exceed the intake lift in these B-series cams.
Any way here some meat to chew on, with more coming soon:
EXHAUST
BCIII+
1 7.37mm/.290"
2 7.37mm/.290"
3 7.62mm/.300"
S2S1
1 3.58mm/.141"
2 4.83mm/.190"
3 6.91mm/.272"
INTAKE
BCIII+
1 4.22mm/.166"
2 6.10mm/.240"
3 7.37mm/.290"
S2S1
1 3.56mm/.140"
2 5.46mm/.215"
3 7.39mm/.291"
If you assume a 1.55 Rocker ratio you get the "specs" which Art relayed to me, which FYI do not match the spec card that cam with the cams.
