Default H22 88-91 CRX mounts, question from the UK!?!

Im looking to buy some engine mounts for my 89 shape CRX to allow me to fit a h22 engine in the bay, the problem is for the last year or so every website I find seems to state the mounts are under development? Is there anyone who actually sells them off the shelf?

Thanks in advance

enjoracing.com
placeracing.com
hasport.com

Also is there any reason why some US mounts (for left hand drive applications) would not fit my UK car (right hand drive application), I cant see any reason why not just thought i would check.

Thanks

Nick

As of right now, there are no mounts available off the shelf to my knowledge in the States; most of the people who swap the H-Series into our chassis fabricate their own mounts. You will have the same restrictions in your RHD as we have in installing into a LHD since your bay was set-up to recieve a ZC from the factory so you have the same engine mount arrangement as us.

I hear place racing are out of business, Hasport arent completing their kit for another 6-8weeks. Anyone know any other manufacturers?

I am still trying to get the correct contact number for HCP to find out the lowdown from them?

If anyone has any news on these mounts please post the info, thanks

Why not just go for custom mounts? Probably gonna be your best bet right now.

This month's sport compact car has a feature on a Hasport built H22 CRX. Check both websites. Oh yeah, the front heavy slug does 1.03g on the skidpad!

I was told by hasport they would be made by the end of june/july does anyone know if this is the case? I dont have the materials or skills to custom make mounts but would if I could maybe sometime in the future, i dont trust my welding just yet.

The issue of SCC is the Sept issue. TWO articles on the H22 CRX, one is a how-to. Don't know if this is available in the UK, but you need a copy. I looked on Hasport's and SCC's website and ......nothing.

On a shittier note, im very sorry to hear about the second tube incodent. I was there about 2-3 months ago and everyone was so friendly. Our harts are with you.

Thanks guys! There has been another threat today if thats what you meant, I think people are ok this time and it is just a scare.

Anyone able to post me a copy of that mag with the how to article if I paypal them a few extra $$? Would $20 cover it? Could be handy as all the info will be in one place.

So did hasport not use a mount kit that they are now offering off the shelf? I shall PM the guys and ask them, alot of them seem to say every set is custom and they shall need the car and engine to knock up a set. Its worth a try thou, failing that i'll hang on till hasport or a simalar company pull through.

Thanks for the replies

Certainly hope it was just a scare, it will be all over the news tonight.

The CRX in the article used off-the-shelf hasport mounts but some welding was required. Did not look too dificult, Hasport has gone to a lot of trouble so you can do it right. The passenger (your driver) side tranny mount has to be completely removed and the new Hasport unit welded on. It's still an involved swap though. If i were doing it, i would go Hasport all the way.

Does anyone know if Hasport will also create a H to B series tranny adapter plate as well? I have been told that to perform an H22 swap, one must use a B series transmission.

The swap in the article used the Prelude tranny and the cable shifter from an Accord.

i find it amussing that hasport has mounts for the k series for our cars, but not the h series. i guess the k series is more popular.

i got an old h23 sitting around, with an old 89 civic si sitting around. i am thinking about a project once i get back to the mainland.

k-series are the future. The only downside i can think of is the hood clearence issues and the price.

After reading all that is involved for the h-series swap, i don't think i'm ready. Just too much involved for me. Good luck

Are the hasport mounts they used available to the public? I dont mind a little welding just hate the idea of having to fab up the whole lot. I shall be buying an adaptor plate from one of the guys on here (AllmotorCRX, I think) and using a rebuilt B series gear box as they are all knackered over here!

I would prefer to delay my project and use the hasport mounts so it can be done properly, I hate having problems down the line, once in... staying in... unless the cam belt needs a change
