Is it just mine or are the front defrosters on 5th gen slow?
Damn.. my front defroster takes forever to get defrost the window, most of the time all my friends with their cars ready(accords, civics, integs, miata, 240, one gti, one supra) all have to wait for me, all cuz my window take forever to clear up on cold nights. The rear defrosters work ok, but it seems that it takes forever for the front ones to clear things up. Gettin kind of annoying cuz they make fun of my car cuz of that.
What I notice is the bottom part of windshield clears up, like 5inches of the bottom area, but the middle to top area takes forever, i mean like 5-10minutes to finally clear up. Most of the time I just drive it anyway and duck my head lower to see thru the clear part of the windshield. It must be the angle of the air hittin the windshield? or is just my car, thanks for any help.

It happens to me on my 4th gen too. I just have the air on the moment I start up my car and I don't have to worry about it. I see that if I wait until it completely fogs up from body heat, it'll take forever to clear up
Is there a good amount of air coming out of the vents? Also, try turning on your AC with the temp on hot. The AC will dry the air and make it defog faster.
Well, how many were in the car?
Stop breathing so hard. Did you do anything that would increase body temperature/humidity in the car?

thanks for the info. I'll try that a/c method. Also, there is a lot of air blowing out, it just seems as if it hit only hits the very bottom portion of the windshield. It's just me in the car and its not cuz of breathing hard, its just when the car has been sitting outside parking lots. Well ok thanks again everyone.
It should help you a lot. One of my cars did this, don't remember if it was the Celica or the GTI. Anyway, it worked much better with the AC on. Would clear up right away. You can turn the AC off after it clears up initially.
Also, make sure you have it set on fresh air instead of recirculating. That could cause it to not work as well...
