Powerslot rotors a good buy?
Hi, I have a '92 Si that I know has warped rotors (I can tell under hard braking), and I want more stopping power, especially considering the performance mods I'm about to start installing, and i was wondering if a set of Powerslot Front rotors for $132 and Hawk HPS Pads for $70.00 sounds like a good buy. Would they be easy to install? How much stopping power would these brakes provide? For now I have stock 15's but I'm soon going up to 17" wheels.
Hopefully someone out there with a 4th gen bought Powerslots and could tell me about them. Thanks

if you want the bling bling of the slotted rotors, then go ahead and pay for the extra price. i would tell you to go to autozone and get their autozone blanks that are made from valucraft, but they dont carry it. what you can do is just get brembo blanks. cost u 75 shipped to you. there are sponsors on this site selling them for 75 or so shipped to u for 2 front rotors. and better rotors does not mean better stoppage. get the hawk hps+ if u want better stopping power. they are louder than the hps's tho.
they originally made slotted rotors because they had organic pads back then. when the pads clamped down under high temps, they would build gasses between the pad and the rotor and it braking distance would be
so that is why they made slotted rotors. the hawk's arnt organic, so you dont even need to worry about getting slotted tires. also, more rotor=more contact space for the pads to touch..so i would think there would be better stopping power with blanks, but im not 100% sure, but u can save like 80 dollars and get blanks and better pads.
in short: brembo blanks+hawk hps+ =better stoppage power than powerslot rotors+hawk hps

i am running the Powerslot SLotted Rotors and Axxis ultimate pads. best setup i have had yet. i ran many types of pads, but there are also many i havent tried.
i can get you the whole set up for 380 bucks. power slot slotted rotors + axxis ultimate pads.

You can get brembo blanks from Nopi for like 21 a piece. If your serious about performance than you know slotted/drilled/ etc..... don't get you anything. blanks are the way to go.
So I'm no brake expert but you guys all say that slotted rotors are worthless then why do all the OE high performance cars (ferrari, porsche etc..) use em? Why do f1 cars use em? How about top fuel dragsters?? Just curious as to why these guys use.
Thanks for the input guys. I'm definately getting the Hawk pads, still not sure on the rotors....Anyone who suggested the Brembo rotors know a good site to get them? Also, TopNotch_Lude , what were some of your other setups that the Powerslots are better than? I'm just trying to be the concious buyer here (i'm pretty skeptical when it comes to money and want the most bang for my buck)
i like my slotted rotors compared to stock blanks, autozone blanks, napa black, brembo blanks were good but the quality is just like the power slot. plus they do the samething. no point in payin more for them.
