Default for a b16 swap in a ef hatch, do i really need the complete change over?

all you really need is the engine, tranny, ecu, and harness. you dont use the mounts, shiftlinkage, and some other things. mounts is hasport, linkage is hasport. so i could just purchase the "motor, tranny, ecu" package right?

when you do that, you don't get the back mount that mounts to the engine, which you need.....my friend did this and had to call the company and buy it seperately, and also, you will need new axles too, but you can get those anywhere, just 90-93 teggy ones, those 2 things do come with the complete swap....

Full changeovers are nice cause you can use extra parts (axles, linkage) for covering core charges.

I went with the engine, trans, ecu route and everything went fine. Junkyards sell axles for the same price as new with core charge exchange.

Its been a long time since Ive done a B series swap in a EF chassis, so correct me if Im wrong people.

You can use the axles that come with the swap depending on which intermediate shaft used. Basically it goes like this:

90-93 Integra axles with 90-93 Integra intermediate shaft. Non ABS.

http://www.hasport.com has all the axles info.

As for mounts, the hasport is a 3 pc kit. Driver side engine mount, rear mount, and tranny mount. You will most likely need to buy a 90-93 Integra rear mount bracket...Ive never seen JDM swaps come with this bracket, but have heard sometimes it is sent.

yeah, that's the part that i meant, the rear mount bracket....it comes with the complete swap but not with just the basic tranny/engine/ecu, and it is NOT a hasport mount part......you would have to buy it seperate like scott said from the integra and the 90-93 integra axles and intermediate shaft are right

good luck with the swap

No, the intermediate shaft is basically an extension off of the transmission so that the drivers-side and passenger-side axles are the same length. Its better than the d-series that had a long drivers-side and a short passenger-side axle in the fact that with equal length driveshafts, it eliminates a lot of torque-steer when accelerating.

GET THE COMPLETE CHANGE OVER!!!!!!!!!!!

I can't stress that enough. You will spend way more in just sourcing the parts you need that it already comes with. If you get the complete change over you can use the rear tranny bracket ($40), the axles ($160 atleast) and the shift linkage ($100). So straight off the bat it would cost atleast $300 just to get that stuff. So of the prices I have seen are higher. But then the complete change over comes with lots of extra you won't need. So you can sell those and make some money.

FYI: The shift linkage that comes with the changeover will not work w/o re-sizing it. Axles are usually only good for core exchanges (boots torn, rusted).

you need to do some research

you can order the complete obd0 b16a swap from steve at hmotorsonline, get the hasport mounts and hasport linkages all from the same guy he will hook u up on the mounts and linkage price, and he wont send the stupid parts that you wont need, do it this way, take the axles he sends you, go up to autozone and buy a set of new axles and give them the jdm axles for core refund, so that way you have new axles for 100 bucks, and a lifetime warranty (this will come in handy im on my 3rd set of free axles)

what model hatch is this?

if its an si i have a comprehensive swap guide that should explain it to you in detail check my sig!

****, that means I have to go and remove my axles. Are they that bad? Does everything just drop in with the HCP mounts, too?

yes...or just a 90-93 integra....and for the clutch cable, you will need to flip the mount upside down on the tranny or get an integra clutch cable......

^ Does it matter which year integra it (throttle cable) comes off of? Does it have to be an LS?
