Default overheating: HELP

Yo! what up people. I've been doing some searches on this, and it seems as if everyone has or have had the same problem. I have a 96 hatch, with a 94 b18c1 obd1 swap. When I first got it the needle never past 1/2, but the fan never came on. lately it started getting hot, and the fan still doesn't come on. I did some troubleshooting and found out the thermostat was sticking. I replaced the thermostat, and the ect just to be on the safe side with the fan. Started the car bled the system, and all was well. The car was running cool, the fan was coming on and everything was fine.UNTIL YESTERDAY!!!! all of a sudden the **** starts to get hot again, and the fan stopped kicking in.I checked the relay and all fuses related to the fan' and their all good. SO WTF!!! IS GOING ON. This seems to be a common problem with all swapped hondas(yes /no). let me know whats up people.

maybe your water pump aint doin its job, is your ecu throwin codes?
check to see if the motor for your fan isnt burnt up.just hook two wires to the battery and the the other to the fan plug. Or maybe the plug is loose or shortin out or something.

water pump is working, the fan is good, I jumped it so I know its working. I guess I would have to check to see if the wire are loose or shorting out.

Its gotta be somethin like that, also i've had eletrical probs with my prelude and when I checked the fuse for my cig lighter it looked fine so put it back in.I kept trouble shooting every thing I can think of, then got my power tester and tested the fuse on both ends, only one side lit up. Turns out the fuse was blown. It was a very small burn on the very edge of that little wire in side the fuse. Its probly not that at all in your case but **** like that happens all the time.

Just an idea for ya? Why not just run a Bosch 30 AMP relay to an axillary switch in your dash? When ever you see your temp meter spike, flip it and your problem is solved. It's definitely a plus to have more personal control over your cooling system!

When i did my swap into my 92 hatch, my fan would come on when it felt like it. I replaced the coolant temp switch on the thermostat housing and i still was doing the same thing. The ground wires that were connected to the thermostat housing were corroded, everytime i would wiggle them the fan would come on.

Check all the grounds and wiring.

If your gonna use a toggle switch for your fan make sure you put some electrical grease so that it wont burn the switch up. ive gone thru two switches before I finaly used the grease, My switch still works.

ps: good idea, I forgot about that.
