Default Fan problems

I replaced my thermostat yesterday, and I checked to make sure the fans were working properly because I been having problems with overheating lately. I got the car warm enough for the cooling fan to come on, then I turned on the A/C, but the other fan didn't come on. My question is which fan is for cooling, and which one is for the A/C? Where are the relays for the fans? I checked the fuses and their fine. I know there is enough coolant flowing.

The smaller fan is usually the AC fan. I think the AC fan is always on the right side of the car if you are facing the motor from the front of the car (driver's side is to your right).

Well thank you, that's the one that comes on as the cooling fan(the one infront of the header). I didn't think that was right. Does any one know where the relays are?
