which prelude should I buy?
Im looking to purchase my first import car....Im not looking to spend alot because Im sick of pumping money into vehicles and not getting my money back.....I want something fast though......but I would like to keep the price around the $5000 mark.....Im looking at getting a 3rd or 4th gen lude....what do you suggest
If you want something fast for $5000 you're looking at a hybrid swap. You could transplant an H22a into a civic, but I doubt you'd find a 4G prelude VTEC for $5000. Or you could build a 92 prelude S up with an H22a and make your own prelude VTEC.
Glad to see you went on the right path - prelude. I would say look for a great deal until' you find the car your looking for. I would suggest a 92 Si - Or S - then swap a H22A later (as laughin already said). Later years will be way over $5,000.
As for myself, I love my car, light weight, decent engine, great handling, and it's fun searching for parts. Plus, no one has 3rd generation preludes that look or run like mine. LudeSPEED does make a great turbo for the 88-91 engines, and he can make em' fast.
Anyway, good luck...

heh... o saw a couple of sweet 3rd gen ludes man.... fast too, so i guess you're not the only one
i had one myself... check out http://www.importfan.com its on there somewhere under products or body kits or something like that.
btw, the best prelude you could buy for $5000 would be a 92-93 Si. although 3rd gens are very nice too.
