oil in spark plug hole
on my 88 civic hb, theres oil on the #3 sparkplug wire when i pull it out, and oil on top and bottom ends of the spark plug I tried replacing all the seals and gaskets for the valve cover, and even tried to put silicone on top of the spark plug holes.still theres that freakin oil. Its a major pain in the *** cause i have to keep adding oil like every 3 to 4 days depending how much driving i do. the only has like 72,000 miles and i had the head rebuilt like 2 monthes ago.If any one has experience and figured out how to fix it please let me know .
could sound serious? i dont know but i had the same issue, but i took of the valve cover and siloconed it up nice and also around the plug holes like you said and put it back together and no leaks... good luck
is it leaking into the cylinder, check and see if there is oil on top of the piston.
if so it could be a week spot in the head gasket. is there oil build up on the plug? watch out for that you might be running on three cylinders soon if you dont clean it off constantly

its had two new head gaskets, and yes theres oil on the
electrode end of the spark plug, but its also in the the top
of the sparkplug, it looks like its coming from the top. When
I pull the spark plug wire out it has a little oil at the end of the wire.
You know when you pull the valve assembly off theres the rubber
rings at the bottom of the circles that match the spark plug holes
do you think it could be possibly that? Its only in the #3 cylinder
hole.If ya dont under stand what Imean ill try 2 get some pics
as soon as i find my digital cam program so that I can down load
the pics off the cam.I really need to figure this problemm cause its
costing me money in the long run, buying oil all the time.

Hey, not meaning the crash but I am having a very similar problem.
I've been having problems with the D15 lagging in putting power to the wheels, I bought some Denso standards to replace my NGK V-Powers for now and when I pulled the NGKs out I had oil all over the plug. Not on the porcelin but on the threads, the torque nut, all those metal alreas. The plug electrode and ground looked fine, but I am getting oil out of all 4 cylinders. I looked at my pistons the best I could and they were carbonated.. waht else is new.
I really don't know what else to say, I check my oil level despite that and some aparent leak around the oil pan and it's fine.. but the oil was pretty dark.. maybe it was just me.
Ideals for both of us?

hey peprika, it sounds like your getting blow by, when I pull out my spark plug wire it has oil dripping on it. You said that the wire it self is clean right?Does your car smoke when ever you get on it?

The spark plug wire/lead is clean- has no oil on it. I check it every time becasuse it looks like it has oil on it because it's partly silicone but it's dry. I just repalced the valve cover gasket and the tube seals not too long ago too.
I never have noticed very much smoke, never any black smoke, but lately a lot more emmissions while in trafic.. but I think that my regular emmissions are more aparent because it't getting quite cold here in Ohio.

Ive seen the o-rings on them they look pretty bad, do the sell the replacements for them? They look like they are not replacable.Thats what I was talking about earlier in this post.
