Default Merge collector vs. stamp collector???

Newb question for a non-newb ..........

What's the difference between a merge collector and a stamp collector?? And which is better??

I'm guessing merge is better since it tends to cost almost $200 more ..........

Will both work as a bolt-on application as long as the cat./test-pipe is the right size?

Well, either no one knows, or it's just such an idiot question that no one wants to answer it .....

Bump, I heard merge collector only works when you run open header.

Damn you guys are pushy sorry i missed the post

A stamped Collector most of the time will not include the gullet and will be sized very largely.

They make work as a bolt on it depends on the particular header you have there may be some modification needed to the header and or reast of the exhaust.

Merege Collectors

No sir merge Collectors work on open header full exhaust sometimes they aren't as effective becasue they or the header are improperly sized

well sheeeeit, i wanna get learned too

concerning a street all motor car making 190-200whp, is it really worth the extra money i'd spend on a merge collector? using a full exhaust, what kind of power gains would i be looking at, if any?

My biggest concern (besides cash) was the ability to bolt on the header to work on the basically stock car (stock meaning not a hybrid or a swap but the actual car an engine came with - ie. H22 in a Prelude).

Yes, I know I'll need a cat./test-pipe with a corresponding diameter, but I just wanted to know if a stamp collector or merge collector will work for that.

And I'm really not sure what makes each one ............ if someone can post pics of each, it will help clarify.

$200 is $200 ........ that can go a long way on a dyno ..........

You could be looking at some very substamtial gains as long as the header/collector is properly designed

As long as you provide a flange or use one that is compatible it can bolt up it may take some modification though

So on a average, how much hp lost do you get from a stamped collector to merge collector?

There is no average it can vary drastically from Application to application Example, customers have called me and said great your header design makes 45 hP, others that have a more optimized design that they picked up down in the lower RPM range and also picked up some peak it really just depends
