Default A few problems with my newly installed zc(d16a1)

Well my buddie and I recently installed my fresh Zc(d16a1), but I cannot seem to find a starter that will work with my si tranny and d15 flywheel, I figured the d15 starter wouldve worked but that wasnt the case, does anyone have a clue to as wat starter will work? Also I cant find a header thatll fit the motor/car combination, anyone know where i could get one? thanx

A d16a1 is not a zc motor..
A zc motor has zc stamped on the block..There is a dohc zc,sohc zc,and sohc vtec zc..And a zc motor is j-spec

The d16a1 is the **** motor from the us 87-89 integra..And it doesnt even bolt to the 88-91 chassis like the zc does..It does however bolt up to the 84-87 civic/crx

Just lettin you know..

you sure its a d16a1 man? if so then get an old integra starter, 87-89 that will do the trick mr speaker is right.

so did you weld this thing in there, bc a real d16a1 wont bolt into a 91 hatch and theres no mount application....

The 86-9 Integra (the car the D16A1 came in) starter will work....if you're using a CG tranny, which has an intermediate shaft, 20-spline input shaft, and weird mounts (compared to an 88+ Civic). Take the engine back out, buy something that'll bolt to your car, and sell the A1 to someone with an 84-7 car.

I'm wondering how you dealt with the timing-belt side engine mount, what with it being on the front of the block and all...

There is 2 diff ZC ( DOHC ) Motors and 2 Diff D16A1 ( DOHC )

Brown top and black top. Newer ones are usually found swapped
into 88-91s and the older style ones were swapped into older 1G CRX
and 3rd gen civics there both ZCs and both DOHC just mount diff etc..

Hope this helps you just need the right one for the right application.. Almost
all dohc parts from the 86-89 integ work and there is lists out there of what
parts you need for your car just search.. Good luck

Show us pics. D16a1 will NOT bolt into 88-90 Civic/CRX. You would need custom made mounts. Lets see pics of the motor in your car and pics of the ID stamp on the block.
