Parts
im new to the game and i want to do easy upgrades. my 2000 GSR has 130k miles on it and i just want to do intake, exhaust, and headers. wat are the best parts? and are used parts ok? or should i go all out from the start?
well...honda motors have been known to last well over 150k miles with regular maintenance
i would say...with that amount of miles though...if you honestly have plans more than i/h/e...to build the motor up....maybe a slight bore...stock stroke...but some fresh internals....itd be like a new motor
other than that.....bolt ons are really your call....but keep in mind you do get what you pay for
also...decide where you want your gains to be...because a 4-1 design header will give a different rpm range of gains
id personally suggest either the hks hi-power or the apexi n1 exhaust...if you want sneaky maybe rsr exmag or comptech world sport
as for headres....copmtech makes some great 4-2-1 stainless steel headers....i use them on my teg
intake is intake really...if you live in a good climate with minimal rain hook it up with the cold air...if you see rain...go with the short ram...the gains arent that different..and you dont have to risk hydrolocking your motor
on another note....i am buying a turbo kit very shortly...and my comptech headers will be for sale....only 2,000 miles on them.....mint condition....they run for 460 new...i will part with them for 250
let me know...and good luck
