Need help identifying.
I just got a 89' honda Civic Hatchback. Dunno what kind. It has a d15b2 SOHC engine in it. Could someone help me?i thought maybe a dx? i saw another one that looked excatly the same.
if you have 4 speed, its definatley a "standard". if you have a 5 speed its either a dx or a std
there are more ways to tell them apart, maybe a hatch guru could chime in here?

You just said it yourself, You have a 4 speed. The ONLY 4th gen civic that came with a 4 speed manual is the STD (standard). Yes, some STD's came with pass. mirrors, some didn't. Don't know why, but i'm sure it has to do with money. It is really easy to change shift ****. All you do is twist off, then twist on, no big deal.

i bought my 91 DX with 5speed, d15b2, no pass mirror, and both bumpers WERE painted, but the front end was resprayed, so they might of went and did the bumpers.
I got my 90EF with no front bumper, no back bumper, no interior, and no motor -
- I wonder what mine could have been. I say call honda and give them your VIN maybe they can help and tell you what it is. My buddy that works at honda mentioned once to me they keep all that on record.
