Default My Prelude won't start. PLEASE HELP

97 Prelude 5-speed

Ok. It's a long story but I'm gonna make it short cause I'm pissed. I just picked this car up tonight. Yesterday I bought it at an auction that I work at. I had thoroughly looked this car over and it ran just fine. The dealer bought it for me and said he was going to take it home to his house and I could pick it up tomorrow. I go to his house tonight and when it starts up, it has a terrible misfire. Ok....maybe it needs some new plugs. So I limp it over to the nearest parts store and put some new plugs in it. Start it up and still....misfiring. Only this time, after running a couple minutes, it stalled and now it won't start. I pulled the check engine codes and this is what I got:

DTC (codes)
P0304
Cylinder 4
Misfire detected

DTC Pending (codes)
P1399
Manfacurer Contrl.
Ignition System or
Misfire

Can anyone please help me out as to what is wrong with this car that I have owned for about an hour.

P.S. I noticed that on the way to the parts store that the temp. guage was not moving at all. It was below the cold mark. I drove it for a good 10 minutes so I would think that was enough time for the thermostat to open????

Any thoughts? PLEASE

Try new ign wires. See if that helps. If not it doesn't matter b/c like chase said you should do basically everything anyways.

i'd do a complete tune up to start......my car was runing on 3 cylinders at times when i 1st bought it....after the tune up, let us know if it starts or not...then start looking for spark, fuel, etc

Well. I've come to the conclusion that most car dealers are crooks. After I bought this car, some dealer was mad that he didn't get the car so he sabotaged it by switching the #2 and #4 wires. And pulled the temp sensor. I got a wiring diagram and figured it all out a few minutes ago. Car runs great now. Thanks to all for the help. I HATE DEALERS
