ABS light on 95 accord
so driving home from school tonight, and about 3/4 of the way there which is about 20 mins, my ABS light came on out of no where. after i stopped to get some dinner which was about 15 minutes with the car off, it came on again about 10 minutes later. does anyone have any ideas
checked the fluid and its full, i guess im just going to try the diag.
a little later i just started my car (cold start) and waited for it to get ready and no light comes on. i heard like a crackling sound, coming from the abs resevoir and some strong fume coming from that area and no where else in the engine. very strange. also when starting my car there is this strange buzzing noise coming from infront of me ie behind the dash or in the engine. any ideas??

the buzzing is the abs building pressure...it should last 2-3 seconds...anything like 1 minute means somethings wrong.

so the man. says that it could be leaking from the outlet valve, leaking from the relief valve, or theres poor contact in pressure switch circuit. it says to check the modulator unit for leaking and tighten modulator unit fitting. problem is that i dont know off the diagrams b/c its not a great picture of where the modulator unit fitting is, nor do i know what the fluid leak would look like. around the solid lines coming out of the inside side of the compartment, there is a little white stuff, i dont know otherwise if that is it or not since its not a normal fluid. any help would be greatly appreciated

looking more in depth, i found some fluid on a wrench i set on top of the abs resevior. smelled like the brake fluid. i guess its coming from the top with the rubber cap. Is it possible for it to be too full, its over the max line on the side? i never filled it up like that, it just came like that
so i emptied out some of the fluid so it is just below the max line. start the car and the buzzing sound stays on for like 30 seconds to a minute. i know its not good and the abs light comes on again, but it has a different code. it was basically 1 i think. i think i just need to replace the modulator unit. is this difficult, do i have to worry about anything
thanks

go to slhondaparts.com and see the diagrams of the unit...it will give you a more detailed view of how the unit is put together.
Some guys on the forum have fixed the problem by replacing a $1.50 o-ring.
