where talking about #18 in the pic, the B pipe

whats the major difference between the b pipe of an vtec and of an si, the have a different part number, but i was wondering whats the difference,

diameter, resonator difference? cat flange, anyone have any information,

if someone could post up some specs of the h23 B pipe i have the h22 b pipe, but need to compare them, and find the difference

totally different part number.

honda would have used the same part on two of thesame types of cars unless they had a good reason not to

The VTEC exhaust system has a shorter b-pipe than the Si exhaust system. They are the same diameter (2.25")

not trying to get off topic, but what are the stock exhaust piping sizes for both models, specifically from the cat back

no a friend wanted to hack up my b pipe cuz it just sitting around, i want to save it, so i figured i would ask and see why the si and vtec are diferent because i probably could ge my hand on an si one much easier than a vtec model stock exhaust

Here is all you need to know:

Flanges are different, length is different...

However, remember that companies DO make cats in differing lengths...

Using that logic, it's a simple matter of getting a cat the length you need...

I am re-using my Thermal once my H22 goes in here soon, I'm just going to weld up a quick-n-dirty test pipe, take measurements, and then order a car-sound cat at the length and diameter I need, along with any flanges I need. Then when they arrive, it's a simple matter of welding it all up, and bolting it in...

I used a DC h22 b-pipe with DC H23 primaries. On my exhaust system NOTHING is OEM.

now did you use a h22 or h23 cat or are they the same flange?

when you say you used the h22 b pipe are you refering to the same b pipe as i am in my first posted picture

or are you talking about #8 in the picture above?

im guessing you used the h23 upper portion of the header, then h22 lower portion with h22 cat back?

Well like I said. Nothing on my exhaust is OEM. I have a 2.5"X14" adustable testpipe. so I have the adjustability to go with headers of different lengths. When I bought my car I had no intake, NO exhaust, no interior carpet, no passenger side seat, no AC, fuxored H23 block, Fuxored power steering and the list continues. It took a lot of work to get back to looking like a decent POS.
