old roll bar, getting new bolts get new plates too?
I am replacing the bolts on an old roll bar. should I replace the backing plates as well. they are somewhat shaped into the contours of where they were located. should I replace them with new flat ones or keep the old shaped ones? thanks
Is that something they say you are supposed to do or is this for some other reason? I didn't know they were wear items.
While they are out, think about grinding the sharp points off and radius the corners, if they are still pointy. The theory is that they can pull through the body more easily if they are shaped like a can opener.

I thought since they were off the car that if they needed to be replaced I could do it then.

thats a partial reason why the bar is out.
