Generally Auto X events aren't held at road course venues. Lots of info online about how to get started. Try the scca web site.
In CT I've run with http://www.cartct.com/index1.php?center=home.htm a few times. They have SnowCross too in the winter.

You should be able to go to the SCCA website and do a seach to find your region, and from there their website. The best thing to do is talk to those guys as far as local stuff goes. I think we (ALSCCA) start back up in Feb. with a test & tune/school. Talk to your local guys, make a few friends, and show up with your car and a lot of air in your tires.
SCCA is very informative on how to get started in your racing career. Also check out http://www.nasaproracing.com and go to a couple of local HPDE(High-Performance Driving Expierence). I have done a few and I think they are totally awesome.
I just started autoxing this past year. I too live in CT and there are a few good places. If you are just starting out, maybe start with autox and go to LR for the great races
There is FCSCC http://www.fcscc.com . I started here with there rookie school, which I believe they are going to run again this May. They are located at Naugatuck Valley Community College in Waterbury. The people here are really cool. The lot is pretty small so the courses tend to be really technical.
I have also run with the CART group http://www.cartct.com . These are much larger events with 100+ cars sometimes. They run in a large lot in Bristol. The people are not as nice and the lot is pretty rough, ie large holes in the pavement. It is nice though because you can go much faster on this lot and you only have one work assignment
.
Hopefully you get involved, it is really a fun sport. If you do, I am sure I will see you, I run a Tahitian Green CRX. PM me if you have any questions.

Yeah, what MLogan said. Check out autox4u.com too and go to their complete schedule (when in season, there's not much there now). They list events that span all over new england and the tri-state area. Look for the rookie school that fcscc runs in the spring too. Get involved, its fun and you'll learn to control your car in situations where most people would just panic. I drive a 95 Si hatch, red with a dark grey nose. See you next year!
