Default TPS voltage is fine but still surges

Hey all I read all the bad idle problems and I wanted to know something else. I tested everything and i tested my tps and the voltage was .51 closed but if the tps is disconnected it doesnt surge anymore. Even though the voltage is reading correct can that still mean the tps is bad?

Thanks

Yes, it still could be bad. Not that expensive, just replace it... You could also have a bad throttle body or wiring issue or bad ecu...

Honda will only sell you the WHOLE throttle body w/TPS for like $500. Get a TPS off of ebay, but that's probably still not the problem. I bet you have a vacuum leak.

i'd look for a vacuum leak also...do you hear a hissing sound?

nah there is no hissing or vac leak. i replaced all the hoses anyways... but when the tps is unpluged, it stops surging, but also like I said the voltage is correct so i dunno if it really is the tps or not so i just drive around with the tps unpluged.

I agree. Just replace it b/c they are not to much $. But make sure you have no vacum leaks first.

did you test it at WOT also? supposed to read around 4.5v at WOT. also check your IACV and fast idle valve.
