Alright guys...I've been doin some searching on the JUN 3 cams and I've been hearing a lot of different things.
My friend gave me a JUN 3 Intake cam cause his JUN exhaust cam had snapped in 2 pieces a few years back. I'm plannin on putting this in my GSR, but I want to have the security of being able to rev a little higher, so I'm plannin on investing in springs/retainers, but what kind? portflow, skunk2, jun? I've been hearing mixed things as well with what cams with whatever springs/retainers to use. I'm clueless of what to search for or buy because of this.... Also, should i look for a different exhaust cam..? (currently using ctr intake cam and itr exhaust cam)
thanks in advance for your comments/help/suggestions
Jason

thanks for the quick shipping on the B16ECU
now to answwer your questions, ROCKET MOTORSPORTS valvesprings and retainers. i have them in mine an rev to 9500 ALL DAY LONG with zero issues. ive mishifted to 11k an i didnt drop a valve. i cant say the same for Skunk2.

i have seen them side my side and i actually considered putting them in my car but steve sakai talked me out of it he kept telling me that the springs were too hard
Steve hates all RM products, thats a known fact.. So your going to base a judgement on a product because of 1 guys opinion.. My motor has Rm in it and see's 10.5krpm all the time.. And everyone here can back up the fact that my motor at its caliber has outlasted almost everyone here on htec including alot of the pro built motors.. If you dont beleive me just look at what it says in Jim Justice's sig. My rockers still look perfect, cams look ok, no abnormal wear..Thats with over 8000 miles, 250 dyno pulls, 3 track days..
RM is PROVEN....skunks are proven to break...Jg is =to Rm as Rm is = to it.
Btw , I run the optional ultra high lift inners that help reduce seat pressure slighly.

that is impressive i have had mixed reviews i can vouch for omniman some of the products i am leary about but i'll take your word for it i'd do ne thing and everything 2 keep my motor running as long as u have check this out 4 me https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1088964
i can only base my opinion on experience with the only 2 sets of valve springs ive used. i have some JUN valvesprings that lasted 9500 for 2 1/2 seasons of abuse. i now have RM valve springs and have had no issues with these either. they have only been in the car about 3/4 of a season.
in no way will i or can i bash the competition without thoroughly reading through threads and sorting out opinions vs truth.

that true i have read a lot of reviews but of course there will be good and bad . u just have to take with a grain of salt . But i was swayed by steve cause so many people swear by his tuning

Omni and Rocket valetrains above all.
-If you want a stiffer but still not TOTAL cam grinder that last: Rocket
-If you want a softer yet stiff enough for semi-aggressive cams with amazing fitment and longevity: Omni

The Jun valvespring/retainer combo is is very good, and can rev to 10k. Htey are on the expensive side....I have had no problens with my jun 3 valvetrain in the last 3 years... A lot of people are using Rocket motorsports, and Omnipower valvetain, and having great results. They are reletivly inexpensive compared to Jun. I like sticking with all one brand, but that is just me. ( Oh and if noone in the states has Jun stuff in stock....It could be 3 or more months before the parts get here)
1. Tbone has a JUN3 exhaust cam he can sell you. It's in very good shape. I know because I have it at my house and have inspected it.
2. There seems to be unnecessary controversy about stiff springs. Properly installed and run in motors with no cyl. head lube problems. The RM G1 springs have practically eliminated top end engine failure due to mis-shifts. Let's see if your motors will survive 12k rpms mishifts in a 500+whp GSR motor.
4. We've had zero spring breakage problems as far as I know.
3. Supertech and Omnipower springs are very good as well.
The choice is yours now. Consider yourselves informed.
