i have an 89 crx hf with a b18a in it. i used the factory hf motor harness and when the car is running the check engine light and my brights light are on. when i turn my lights on my factory shift light comes on. i told everyone this is a crazy question and thanks in advance for all the help.

sounds like your wiring is not done correctly, otherwise this wouldn't happen. There must be a place where the wires short causing this problem.

 

get a multimeter, start checking grounds, and good luck!

not if your brights and shift light are coming on. Those arent controlled my the ECU. I'm thinking main relay. Thats gona be a nightmare, so good luck

good luck bro. that sounds like one hell-of-a-shitlist growing. The relay is behind the little coin drawer thingy on the driverside. The shift light comes on and you have a b18a.? interesting. Are you thorwing codes. I would say have a look at all the in chasis wiring and test all the Connectors....and track down your problem.....**** dude....good luck.
