i've lost my little book of code readings, but i've thrown it before.

the little light just blinks 16 times then stops...i remember it being a fuel injector code. now here's how it happens...or how it's happened in the past.

sometimes, i space out at a street light get lazy with my clutch foot, dump the clutch and kill it. i'll turn the key off and back on so fast to start it up again, it'll throw the code, not want to start while the CEL is on and leave me there for a second. now, if i turn the key off, wait, then back on and try to start it, it'll start, CEL goes off and that's it.

however, yesterday, it just did it to me randomly in a parking lot. went to start it, didn't wait long enough for it to kick over (i'm low on gas, oops)...turn the key off, then back to starting position, and then the CEL came on and wouldn't start. i had to wait like 5 mins before it'd start.

what causes this? when i turn the car off and back on so quick, does it fool the ecu into thinking the injectors are havin a **** fit or what?

i know how to reset the code, i just want to know why it happens to me, it's probably done it 4 times now, over the coarse of a year...

 

I don't know. Just by reading your post i am dizzy. SO i guess your ecu is also.

Maybe the ECU in within a cycle and, since you interupt it so fast, it has to gather its senses before operating properly...

that's what i was kinda thinkin...but i've never seen it with VW's...so that is kind what was keeping me from being for sure about it.
