cv joint replacement costs
my car has close to 130k miles on it. my last oil change my mechanic was telling me that i should probably have the cv joints replaced next time around.
after talking with him today, he said it was going to be 600 withe parts and labor
does that sound right, i guess im just in a little shock from the high prices
has anyone ever done this on their car before?

Just get new axles (they come with CV joints) and they should cost around $100 with cores.
Thats per side incl. labor and parts.

If you can live with remanufactured axle, get them from Kragen or Pep Boys, they are $75 a piece and the labor for a local shop in Bay Area to install them is about $70 bucks. Replace the axle is a cheaper way to go.
how much are new honda axles, or a aftermarket that is comparable quality

Just do the reman axles, you'll be money ahead.

Honda Axles will cost you a fortune.
Better off getting exchange axles. Just as good as new ones.
Got a price on Brake Rotors for my 86 integra and they quoted $302 each $aus
not fitted just the part.
Make sure who ever fits to fit new drive shaft seals to.
