Default Konig Wheels

Are Konig wheels any good. Are they well made. I was always told to stick with companies like mugen and axis. But i kinda like the looks of some of the konig wheels.

konig is just as good as quality as rota.

the konigs are good they are just heavy ....~19lbs for 17" models.

rotas offer some lightweight 17's .....i think like 14-15 lbs

i have 18's and 40 series tires. Konig Verdicts. i have hit so many pot holes at high speeds and i dont have a bend or a crack in them. they are good rims. my 18s with tires weigh in at a whopping 47 pounds each

If you're not a serious racer dont listen to the hype about heavy wheels, that 5 extra pound per wheel wont mean crap if you're a daily driver or the occasional domestic-car-smoker.

WHEEL WEIGHT IS VERY IMPORTANT! you drive a honda. you don't have a ton of horsepower. these are the facts that we all must live with. the key to putting this power down effectively is to make it as easy as possible for the motor to spin the wheels and propel the car forward(or backwards, if you go that way). it's simple. a lighter car will get down the road quicker than a heavy beast(read:domestic). rotating mass is probably the most important place to reduce weight if going fast, or even just being efficient, is i goal of yours. the heavier the wheel, the harder it will be for the engine to spin that wheel.

insummary, if you plan on being an "occasional domestic-car-smoker", lightweight wheels are one of the easiest and most effective steps you can take.

(sorry for the diatribe.i realize that this is the appearance forum, not tech.)

A couple points. Konig wheels are not German. They have nothing to do the Konig with the seats. Konig wheels are made in the rota factory. "Rota " brand name focuses on racier wheels while konig does more show except for the "sub zero" and other such wheels. So please consider these points . Konig and Rota are the same if you compare like wheels. sub zero and sub zero, tantrum and whatever rota calls theirs (i forget)...

is this an answer for me? or just a fyi for everyone. i just want people to realize that not all konig wheels are heavy and wheel for wheel they are the same weight.
They might even have a "slipsstream" in store for next year. And also , again, do not confuse them with Konig who imports seats and other euro parts.

I have a set on Konig GT-R's. I like them. They look pretty good and so fourth. They may be heavy but I dont use them if racing. I have stock wheels for auto-xing. Dont ever get rid of your stock wheels. Plus I am planning on getting some 13 by 8 wheels for auto-xing. They weigh a lot less too. Get what you like and keep you stockers for racing or get some light cheap wheels for racing. The konigs are so durable.

For those of you that hate Koni, I have a little story.............one night coming from a party in my freinds 94 SI hatch on $3000 Mugen RNR wheels, we ran into a guy with some really ghetto chrome old school Konig wheels on 95 ex coupe. His car spanked my friends car so hard I started to turn red.....So I just don't get some of these people who aree willing to shell out so much for somewheels and yet still go slow. I am for getting nice rims.....if you can back it up
