yeah, they are gonna do a B20 turbo to a honda auto? hahahaaaa. like that'll last. if they are doing that motor, which i don't know. but i doubt a honda auto tranny can hold a lot of power...

yup thats true... btw. all the fast project cars are automatic have you noticed? the drag ones at least. ( i constitute sequential and slap shifters automatics also )

All fast street drag cars are automatics. A good automatic will beat any Standard. I myself still love driving standards, funner to drive. While your shifting, there still putting power to the wheels, the whole way. Fastest drag cars in the world are automatics(american cars).

imagine you had a bomb-*** built auto tranny. its set to shift at the perfect time, everytime. less room for driver error.

then who needs a driver?

just press the button on a remote to open the throttle all the way, then another button to close the throttle and lock up the brakes.

no more fatal passes!

Go to the drags and see how many 2 speed autos you see running 9s and 10s in the V8 cars vs 3,4, or 5 speed standard shifts. I doubt you can even find a standard. Auto is without a doubt better for drag racing. Personally I have no desire to drag race a car that launches, stages, shifts, and damn near trailers itself to the track like those guys, but hey, they're quick. I think SCC is making a good decision for a drag car. I can't believe it hasn't already been done on a honda.

It hasn't been done because Honda's don't make enough torque to get off the line well enough on an Automatic... It'll need to have a 6k RPM stall, at any Honda Automatic won't hold up to that many times in drag racing!

True about the stall, but I'm suprised someone used a reworked auto of some type. It'll be interesting to see what SCC can come up with. I'll bet anything it will be quick.

SCC did LOSE to Super Street in the Si Challenge a few years back... I bet it's never heard of again until after a 5 speed swap simply because of tranny issues.
