Gauge Question?
I bought a 2000 GSR a few weeks ago. It came with some crappy aftermarket gauges. The guy gave me all the stock parts with the car. NE ways I put the stock gauges back in and now my speedos 10 mph fast. Is there an easy way to get the speedo back to where its supposed to be?

What if you drive faster? Is it at every speed a differnece from 10 mph or will it rise with higher speed?</TD></TR></TABLE>
electronic vss, no speedo cable.

When you switched back to the stock guages, how did you go about repositioning the speedometer needle when it came to putting it back into the cluster? Maybe it was slightly off to start with. The VSS could be correctly reading speed, but the needle may not be mounted properly. Is your tach needle correct? It should read 4000 rpm at 80mph.
could somebody give me some numbers? whats the speed in 1st gear at 3000rpms , 2nd gear at 3000 rpms , for example. It would be greatly appreciated.
Depends on your tire size, but you can use a calculator online to get rpm and mph based on your gear ratios in each gear. These are the spec for your tranny:
1 - 3.23
2 - 1.9
3 - 1.360
4 - 1.034
5 - .787
fd - 3.0
In 5th gear, your speedo should read 4000 rpm for 80mph, 3000rpm for 60, 2000rpm to 40. It's pretty much a 2:1 ratio when in 5th. That is assuming stock tire size.

well i finally got my car back from the body shop after a month. according to these numbers my speedos right . maybe they fixed it , i dont know. thanks for the info.
ok this sucks its reading 80mph at 4000rpms in 5th but its still off. Ive clocked speeds with 2 diff. cars and its still reading 10mph fast. Is this ever gonna end.
