When I put my car in reverse (1991 civic dx) and start to accelerate I will roll a few feet then it will make this decently loud CLICK! Then a few more feet and another CLICK! If it take it out of gear and just roll in reverse it still does it. It is coming from the passenger side and I have recently (about 4 months ago) replaced the axle on that side. Any ideas on what might be causing the clicking sound. Its decently loud and I can slightly feel it through the chassis.

 

Forgot to add, when I put it in first and go forward, it doesnt make the sound. Every now and then it will make just one click then be done, but only when driving forward.

i got the same problem, just noticed it. wondering what it is too

on my old 88 std it was doin that same ****..
Replaced the inner cv joints and it was still doing it..
Then I replaced the Steering rack bushings and it went away..
