Hey, this is Mike K. To the new school people on the board, you probably don't know who I am. I was the Acura parts hook-up guy from 1999 til mid 02. Then I passed the torch to Len.
To all you old school board members, you know me, and I probably know you too.

Anyway, the purpose of this post is simple.. I need a set of used or new Toda Spec A cams for a good deal. I figure since I've given this board so much of a discount ovr the years, I could score a discount myself.

As most of you know, Toda Spec A is my favorite cam. I am in the process of building a new NA project, and I can't do it without these cams. I know there are a lot of "better" cams or bigger cams on the market(according to what people say these days), but in my experience, nothing gives such awesome overall performance as the Spec A's. Not to steal your thread or anything, but are the Spec A's smog friendly? I live in California and want to add some more street legal power.

 

i don't care what anyoe says.. but for a "mild" allmotor application, the spec A's are the best. i made 192hp and 136tq @ the wheels on a dyno jet on my motor.
it was a 100% B18C5 with the following mods...
toda spec A's and a toda header
comptech icebox w/ comptech foam air filter
STOCK itr exhaust with 2.25" test pipe
cam gears, skunk2, and v-afc

now, i consider that REAL good, consideing the minimal amount of mods. aside from the cams, it was all bolt-ons.

but as a side-note... i had an ITR tranny with ATS 3-4-5 gearset. lol.
in my integra, it weighed 2120lbs with a 1/4 tank of gas. such a fun car to drive. i pissed on my uncle 2002 corvette, and it ran 13.7@103mph on street tires with a 2.1 60ft. fun fun fun.

lol. i know, i know. i just had to make my point and voice my opinion about these cams. i am sure there are MANY people with better results with spec B's and they probably HATE spec A's. lol. but that's what makes this world great.
