what gauges to buy??
i was wondering what gauges to buy to manage my all motor non-vtec b18b. i was thinking the autometer air/fuel gauge. i hear these aren't very accurate without having wideband. what other autometer gauge should i invest in to properly manage my engine? my setup will yeild at least 170-180 hp with a low 11, high 12 C/R. thanks
man o man. this site pisses me off. i ask simple question and no1 ever answers it. i simply said what gauges are good to manage a n/a motor. and u tell me what brands. dont post on my thread anymore. god damn

I say definitely get the air/fuel. That's my first gauge purchase and even though it let me to get a whole new o2 sensor and considering wideband its accuracy! Like they say.. running rich or lean is harmful. Less power for lean and detonations and all of that for rich! AIR/FUEL is a must if you want information about your car. Well.. that's my opinion. Oil temp sounds good too... water temp doesn't seem to be much of a problem in my experience.
Personally, I would have picked: oil pressure, EGT, and a lambda meter. I use the Hondata to datalog/view the rest using the motor's existing sensors as I tune the car or if I just want to see how the engine's doing.
If I was on the road course more, I'd take an oil temp gauge as well.
I also have a mechanical fuel pressure gauge in the engine bay, but it only gets used every now and then.
I'd go with water temp and oil pressure at the very least, and then a wideband EGO sensor and EGT if you want to tune it yourself.

i have an oil pressure gauge for sale btw, pm me if interested. Oh, and i would say get the a/f gauge with a wideband.

If you are going all motor then I would definitely get a a/f gauge. Since you are gonna be spending money on the build you might as well purchase a wideband O2 sensor since you will need it for tuning.
I have a oil pressure gauge in mine. will be getting a water temp gauge.
I do have a autometer phantom A/F gauge for sale. I was going to use it but had my hondata tuned right away instead. pm me if interested

and their a/f gauge is a needle, not a light show

I have oil preasure and oil temp. I was told the temp wont do much good unless you are having major engine problems. But i feel better having it. I will be adding a volt meter, water temp and maybe an air fuel.
Personally i went with autometer ultra light, i liked the look and in that line i can have all of my gauges match. http://hp.autometer.com/produc....html
