Default uh oh!!! my crank pulley fell off while driving... what happened?

it came loose last night so i parked it in the garage and didnt drive it. i woke up and tried to hand tighten it... it was real loose. just so i get down the street to my buddies shop so he can get an impact gun to it. i figued i would make since its like a mile away. there was so much traffic that it took longer than expected, i knew it was getting real loose. right when i was turning down his street the pulley popped off.

after it popped off i drove it for like 10ft then the car died. what do you think happened to it?

i know if the pin fell out my timing would get thrown off and i would screw up my valves. but if the pin fell out could it maybe not damage it and it died because the cam was not spinning the distributer?

when i was taking off when it fell off i was in 1st probably at like 1500rpms then it felt like i ran outta gas. i just let it die.. didnt wanna rev or start it again.

you think my motor is ok still????

i doubt the pin came out most likely though the pulley has been torn up and chewed up by the pin.
your motor is almost positiviley fine as this has happened on my wifes car twice already.

you were running off the battery because the alternator wasnt spinning anymore.
the only way your timing will be affected is if the drive gear for the timing belt comes off along with the pulley. DO NOT DRIVE THE CAR LIKE THAT AGAIN.
