Quality springs for KYB AGX for Best Price?
Hey,
So I'm forced to quit my job in January and concentrate on school because my grades aren't up to par when I try and do both. I'm still planning on upgrading my suspension. I'm looking for about a 2' drop and I've got around $200 to spend. The shocks are KYB AGX's.
Thanks.

i heard that u werent supposed to go below like an inch and half with kyb's but im might be wrong....maybe im thinking of another shock.. but im pretty sure its those
thats just for the warrantee, it will be voided if the car has been lowered more than 1.5 inches, but SOOOOO many people ride on AGX's and are as low at 2inches or LOWER just cutt the bumpstop in half and you will be allright and swerve Huge Potholes
ive had the tein s.techs, and didnt like the drop. but paired up with the agx's, they rode really nice and not to jarry and bouncy.
right now i have the h&r race springs, the drop is perfect with no gap all around but still not tucking. on setting 1, its still pretty stiff but doesnt jar you around and give you motion sickness. then on setting 4, you feel every little bump and pebble in the road. i got them for $150 at tirerack and the teins for $100 from ebay

I had AGX's with neuspeed race springs and they sucked. The spring wasnt even long enough to suspend the car, when I hit a bump, the shock was taking all the impact, the spring was too short. So just something to think about, the AGX / Neuspeec Race combo is not a good idea...

Well I just bought the KYB AGX's on Ebay. Isnt' that exciting
I paid $318 shipped off ebay. Good price I think. I'd like to buy some springs tonight as well. I'm just wondering if I should spend the extra $150 and get ground control coilovers. Or should I just get H&R's with like a 1.8F 1.6R drop or eibach Pro Kit's with a 1.4F 1.3R drop? I don't think the Eibach's will be low enough.
I'd like to get about a finger gap. I'm riding on 205/45/16 tires.
Any suggestions?

I just bought H&R Sport springs for $168 shipped off tirerack.com. My friend has them in his SI coupe with stock shocks. Very comfortable ride. I'll let you know.
nice choice..the only reason why i didnt go with the sports is because its not as low as the race set. but then my cousin put the sports on his EK (i have an EG) and his is as low as mine. half finger gap if that, to give you an idea.
dont forget to get new rear lca bolts before you install em just in case

i bought the same combo (agx and h&r sports) i love it. it is the nicest ride from a lowered car i have ever ridden in. its not to soft or to hard. the balance between the dampening from the shocks and the spring rates in this kit seems to be a great match!
btw: this is in my 98 civic ex coupe

My first option was to go with Koni Yellow/GC with teg spring rates. That's what I really wanted. Unfortunately, due to me cutting back the amount of time I worked per week because of school I could no longer afford it.
I hate to say that I had to settle for KYB's and H&R's because they are an awesome setup as far as I've heard. I'll let you know. H&R's came today.

yea man let us know..
im riding around on Number One #1 coilovers w/ stock shocks that are going on me, making all kinds of noises when it takes the slightest impact...like me getting in the car (only 150lbs btw...not a fat ***..)...
im intrested in the kyb's n some GC or eibach springs but i heard the eibach has a very mediocer drop to it..not to aggressive looking. Also, all out Tein was an option..but i heard **** about that too... Im 90% wrong most likely cuz i'ev only heard it so correct me if u feel otherwise

Interesting... I have agx's w/ neuspeed race and I can't say that I'm having this problem at all. In fact I love the setup, I think its a perfect street setup. I would recommend it any day of the week.
