Default Cold weather problems

Hi all,Ive got a CRX non V-tech 89 model,Over here in the UK we are experiencing some cold weather at the moment like -5 to -10.Well basically i had no anti freeze in my motor and needed the car today so carefully tried to slowly warm up my little hot hatch destroyer bit by bit,l let it tick over for a min or two then switched the engine off and waited for some heat to slowly thaw out the pipes,I know by this point your thinking what a silly ****** i am and yes if i had put in some green stuff in the first place it wouldnt have happened.Well as i squeezed the top radiator hose i heard the sound of running water from some where!!!Not good i know its coming from around the alternator area from what feels like a 2-3 mill hole. The thing is i aint got a clue where the water pump is on the engine is it around that area or not,its either a core plug gone, the water pump or my block is cracked to be honest i dont think its the block could someone please tell me where the water pump is?As you have guessed i am totally ******* stupid and probably dont deserve such a sweet little car in the first place Any advice appriacated

The water pump is behind the crank pulley... about where you described... but it's under some plastic covers on the left side <when sitting in it> of the car.
