Have an 89 rex dx that i raced last year, circle track......the thing sucked getting off the corners, i mean i would get killed. what can i do to make it better? the car has to ramain stock, should i swap to the d1616 engine and tranny??what is the diff in trannies, I know the final gear is diff, any help to get me going faster would be mint....thanks all

If the car is to remain stock, can't you NOT swap items?

 

I PUT THE OLD TRANNY FROM AN INTEGRA LS AND IT HAULED ***. THIS WAS ON MY DX ALSO

 

Do you have a link to the rules for the class you are racing in? Every time I've seen circle track mini-stock, it's been RWD only.

I'm guessing you could probably modify the engine internals & transmission gearing, while maintaining a stock appearance.. that is if you have the $ to rebuild your engine... Just an idea.

Gearing may be your best friend. Since you don't need top speed, get short gears.
