SPSS2 valving for koni's info needed
any one know what the range of spring rates are for this valving? I sent a PM to Lee but he is a busy guy, so i figured some one in here might know it.
thanks
thanks
I thought Hunter & Parker (or maybe just one of them) were running SPSS Koni's with 600/800 set-up and seemed to enjoy it quite a bit.
Either way SPSS should handle those kind of rates well. I have SPSS' w/ 400/500 and they are fine are full soft.

I believe CRX lee said he would probably feel comfortable going as high as 1000 lbs/in springs. He probably won't give you a straight answer to your IM though because damping is like salt, different people like different amounts. There are also too many variables to give you a direct number. Some people use OTS yellows w/ 800 lbs/in springs and they like it. I, however, would think that would be way under damped.

this should help (and I should know this since these are my/soon to be slammed_93_hatch's koni's):
I personally handed Lee the koni's and said, "I want these valved for 650lbs/in front springs and 800 lbs/in rear springs."
Now, you don't have to run those rates, you can run less, but I wouldn't run too much more.
Hopefully Lee (or any other shock guru, as I definetly am not one) will chime in.

Probably not so good for softer rates. If you spend all that $$ on SPSS race shocks (no warranty) and your going to use them on softer springs (500 or less) you would be waisting your money. The OTS yellows have a lifetime warranty, and can be adjusted pretty stiff. Plus, you can have them re-valved later if you want. As for the shortening of the body, I'm not too sure thats a big selling point (it is really only an issue in the front anyways). Besides, you can mount the OTS shocks lower in fork (see 9th post down on this page https://honda-tech.com/zero...age=7 ) on the fronts, and add Ground Control Top Hats front & rear too.
i currently have koni yellows and when i mean softer i mean something like 550front 650rear.
and i have GC's race mounts, its not that it was a big selling point i was just curious i found out the info i need to know, that these will be fine for 550-1000lbs springs and thats mainly what i was looking for.
edit- https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1004136 thats my setup but now with spss koni's
