With the key off, press and hold the Set/Reset button on the gauge cluster. Switch the key to On and hold the button until the light goes out. Nothing to get checked out, it's just an Annoy-O-Light.

yeah it doesn't mean that the ecu detected a problem and go to the dealer to get ripped for a diagnostic check. The light is set by mileage to determine when to illuminate

There are some super-lazy bastards out there that don't even change it that often... my friend got tired of that thing and took it out of his si cluster and put in a CTR bezel... no more light

UHmmmm, EM1s don't have maintenance required lights. They have that little green thing that turns yellow after a while and then red. Take your key and push in on the little black thing next to it. Should reset it back to green.

Unless you're talking about the Check Engine Light. That's a different story. You should do a search for the codes page that was bouncing around here a while back.

well dont mean to be an ***, but i think my owners manual for my 94 civic says to change it every 7k or every 4k for "severe" conditions. so changing it every 3k is always a nice habit(i do it myself) but i don't think it is necessary.

7500mi oil changes are fine if your running synthetic. Pry ok if your using dyno oil too. 3000k mi is absurd now-a-days, unless you have a bad blow-by problem.

I change mine when the indicator goes to red. about 7,000mi. Mobil 1 5w-30

I work at Toyota and I see alot of gunked up engines from lack of a oil change. I did some work on a Avalon that a customer put over 12 thousand miles on it with out a oil change and it was already getting sludged up. Sad thing is the car only had 19,000 miles on it. Seeing those cars come in on a regular basis makes me change my oil every 3 thousand religously.
