Default how often do you guys get your valves readjusted?

i am contemplating if i should get my valves readjusted after 30,000 miles ?

it has a slight ticking noise when i rev it to 4-5K, but it feels like its runnig strong.

I also wanted to hear from you guys if adjusting the valves would increase performance overall ?

thanks guys

I usually just do mine once a year or so, when i buckle down and give the car a real tune up to say. You really only need a couple tools, and the helms to get the job done right, its not that hard.

I thought it was every 15k miles but it could be 30. Not longer than that though. i do mine every year now that I've started running at the track. Putting them tighter gives you better performance. Some people do it .001-.002 tighter than honda recommends just to quiet things down and add a tiny power improvement.

owners manual says every 30k. it doesnt hurt to pull the valve cover and check the lash. if its off, adjust.

I think I gave you the name of a shop, didn't I?
Valve adjustments really are easy to do; you need a set of feeler gauges, the snapon valve adjustment tool and a a 6 pack.
Easily done within an hour.
PM me if you've got any questions.

Every 30K, at home, takes about 10 - 15 Mins. 30 If I have to replace valve cover gasket and tube seals. Not hard at all with the right tools.(1/2" Drive rachet and socket for crank pulley, 10mm socket, extension, feeler gauge set, flathead screw diver, 12mm socket, silicone rtv and razor blade.)

I would say dealership. (not because I work for one) but because with tuner shops I have had to fix a few of them its not that hard to do but its also easy to mess up. if your valves are adjusted to tight can give you a badd idle or missfire codes. Or to loose they are loud and also can cause missfire code ect. And another plus with dealership they stand buy there work alot of "tuner shops" give you start up out the door warranty and legaly there is nothing you can do about it. just my 2cents

You can definitly do it yourself. Just get a helms. You will probably use the helms later on too. If you never do it you will never learn man. Plus the helms will pay for it self in the first or second valve adjustment.
