anyone cali BAR a B16 integra yet?
Well i was thinking **** this can be done on a crx as long as its obd1 because we had one availible in the US in obd1. So can it in an integra as long as u use a SIRII civic B16? I wouldnt see why not anyone done this before?
Its been done in an integra (90-93). I forget his username, but he's on g2ic.com and made a post about it. Basically you just swap the engine like its from a del sol. I also have a friend who has a b17a in his 91 and got it bar'd. Basically the same as doing the sirII swap and getting it bar'd.
sweet thats what i figured. Just make it look like a del sol under the hood. As for the B17a he shouldnt have had to BAR it at all because it was an option for that model. oh wait might be different because they didnt have it in 91 so hmm...sweet tho..my boddy wants a B16 he was thinking XSI i was like well get the sir 2 it comes with p30 ecu and hydro tranny and his car is already obd1 (92DA) so wont be nothing to it cept vtec wiring.
even if you had a 92-93 you would have to bar b17a.... even if its an option for that year, I believe ANY engine swap, unless its the exact same engine, must be ref'd.
As for your friend's 92 da. You are right. He can swap in a 2nd gen b16a (which by the way, some are xsi engines
) and just ref it like its a del sol engine. Should be pretty simple, especially since he won't have to do the obd conversion. Technically you're supposed to run a hydro tranny, but I have never heard of any ref actually enforcing that rule.

yea i know and actually..the del sol in USDM was a PR3 or P30? cause they check for the right one for that motor(they would be refering to the del sol usdm)hmm i dont know about that. If the usdm is a pr3(i believe it is) then maybe it would be better to go ahead with an Xsi motor swap because everything would say PR3 on it cept then again wouldnt u have to get the year 94-95 because thats when it was here in the us?
And no i called the ref and they said if it was an option for that vehicel in that year then you dont even have to bring it in.

wow, thats good to know about the year/option thing...
I think the del sol ecu is a p30, but I could be wrong. I think the jdm and usdm p30's are slightly different, but the ref shouldn't know the difference.

yea wont matter they said as long as the number is the same. hmm i need someone to clarify if its a p30 i'll search around..about the option think yes, u can take a dx crx and drop an si in it and its perfectly legal. cause i called about my ls crx and they said well the only way u dont have to ref it is if it was an option for that year car.
i got a 92 integra RS with a b16a2 obd1 swap inside of it..
Can someone please tell me how to get this thing bared and legaled up and stuff? THanks.. its running a customized p28 ecu
