ok guys here goes... I did my swap about 1 month ago. (gsr in my ek) the motor was running good and about 2 days ago my speedometer stopped working and I could not hit vtec. i checked my ecu and i was throwing (code 17, vss).Today when i was on the freeway my radio began to turn on and of by itself, and my lights began to dim. I pulled into a gas station and my car just died on me.when i tried to turn it on it just made a (click click click sound).I called a friend and got a jump, when i was driving i was able to hit vtec. my speedo still did not work and when i checked my codes i was not throwning my vss (vehicle speed sensor)anymore. I have my stock cluster so im pretty sure its not that. can you guys help me out.thanx alot

 

sounds like your alternator might has something to do with the problem. hence the radio and headlight problem, as well as the dead battery while driving.

 

alternator yes..but could it be a dead battery also?

 

my vss keeps coming on and off, at times i can hit vtec and at others i cant, do i need to get a new one?

 

Check the power wire from your alternator to the battery. From what you're describing it sounds like that is grounding out. If the wire is free of cracks and burns have the alternator checked (most kragen/autozone stores do it for free).
