do i really need to get rods shot peened?

whats up

im gonnna be rebuild n my LS motor real soon and wanna know if it's absolutely neccessary for me to shot peen the rods. im low on the $ so let me know

oh yea, motor wont be see n anything past 7K rpms

Pretty much! Once you start hit past the 300 whp mark I would consider getting them done. It's not that expensive, you can get it done for under a $100.
