running 195/60/15 tires w/o rubbing on a 4th gen?
I came by a great deal on a set of winter studded tires but they are 195/60/15. My existing tires are 205/55/15 will the 195 tires rub due to them being a 60 series tire? My car has lowering springs and sits about an inch to an inch and a half lower than stock. The previous owner of the tires ran them on a prelude and didn't have any problems, but his car wasn't as low as mine.

they are Cooper weathermaster tires with the studs, and I can get both for $70, yay or nay? I'm thinking the narrower width will help cut through the snow and the little bit of extra height will keep my lip safe

You'll be fine i have an 1 1/2 inch drop all the way around and i run 195/60r15 snows with no rubbing at all, and they do help in the snow my lude was extremely hard to drive in the snow with the 205/55r15s but with the 195/60r15 its much better. But you should not just put two snows on the car you should have them in all four positions especially if they're studded. I work in a tire shop so I have some knowledge in this area
^ what he said.
4th gens can take 225/45/17x8 even droped. my buddy has it on his H23 (dont know how much his car is droped though) because of preludes double wishbone suspension, the rear wheels change angle and dive into the fender not touching it. so youll be fine 100%
