Hi,
Im about to purchase a 97 gsr tranny. but i want to make sure the tranny is a gsr and not an LS. is it true that 97 -up integras puts a vin number on there motor and tranny? if so, if i can get a vin # off the tranny, where do i verify that its a gsr tranny? can the honda dealer do this? please let me know asap. thanks.

 

If the 3-5th letters in the vin are DB8 or DC2, it's a GS-R. DB8 is a 4 door, DC2 is a hatch. A second check is the 8th digit. An 8 is a GS-R, a 9 is a GS-R with leather.
