how long did it take to install your tach?
alright i just ordered a tach from autometer and i get in on thursday. this tach is calibrated for 8 cylinder engines. i was just wondering how to convert so it works on 4 and about how long did it take some of u to install just so i can kinda plan out when to do it myself
Prob took me about a half hour to install mine! I am not sure about the 8 cylinder conversion. I am not sure if it matters. May wanna try searching though. Good luck!
ha i just found something on that. u just half to adjust a few wires on the tach for it to calibrate for 4 cylinders.
half hour really? was that ur first time? i'm just worried i'll drill into something when i go to mount it. oh and another question i'm mounting it right about the center console where the air conditioning vents r, is there anything that would get in the way like wires or anything there. i'm prolly gonna take it out but just so i no what to look for

Maybe they make one of those "pills" to recalibrate it? Although I am not sure if all they do is change the shift light times.
prolly the rpms will just b messed up it might say 4 grand and actually b at something else higher or lower i'm not sure
takes me about a half an hour
to calibrate to a 4 cylinder, cut both pigtails on the back of the tach. the instructions should tell you that. mine are brown and orange. although the instructiona may say brown and blue or orange and blue, there are two little pig tails out the back of the tach. those wires should be cut.
