If you're referring to the SOHC zc block and a D-series then yea, they're pretty much the same. But you need to be a bit more specific, the way you worded it is entirely to vague.
im realy sorry..... DOHC ZC head on a d16 block....1992 and up, non vtec
reason why i ask is because i can get a DOHC zc head, complete manifold, wiring harnest and ecu for 20 bucks

Regular blocks and zc blocks are different. Different compression. The DOHC ZC uses a stronger rod. The strongest of the D series actually. While a D16 block WILL work with a dohc zc head.. There different. PM7 is a DOHC ZC block. PM6 is SOHC block.. PM7 and Pg7 are the blocks you want to try to get

The dohc zc head will NOT work on any USDM D16 block except for the D16A1 in 86-89 Integras, which will NOT bolt into any 88+ Civic chassis. One head bolt doesn't line up, and before you ask...NO, it isn't worth it to try and make it fit. Now, if you can't use it would you please email me the guy's contact info so I can buy it?

How can he bolt a dohc head onto a sohc block if the the head bolt pattern is different?!? Didn't you read the post a few above yours telling him that very thing? Unless of course there is some secret you know that we don't. If so, please share it with us.

I already explained a million times in my other post how to do it. https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1079426

I appreciate the link, but nowhere in that post or in any of your other posts have you described how you resolved the issue of the one head bolt that doesn't line up. And I am 1000% sure that it doesn't (it's off by ~1/4") because I have compared the head gaskets. So if you tell me how you did that you'll get props from me for doing what few others have even dared to attempt.

thats why i used the ARP headstuds. with the headstuds, you can get the one on the top left hand corner to move over that 1/4". what i had to do was stack up a few washers, but i attained proper torque, and returned a leak-down test of 3% on that cylinder. so, the seal is good. also, like I said in my thread, i bored the hole out in the head a little so the stud moved over. after all was said and done, it only moved over between 1/32 and 1/16 max. yes it is true you cant use the factory bolt because of this (i tired and the head gasket leaked). but with the ARP studs, it works fine. also, i used jb weld on the threads for all of the head studs. so its not going anywhere.
hey can you email me all the details about the boring? Im at CIVICSIR27@NETZERO.COM thanks
