Tuning from Black Box?
My roommate has an '03 eclipse which he recently supercharged with a Vortech blower made by RIPP mods. Came with usual upgrades of Walbro pump, RC 310 injectors, different (secondary?) fuel pressure regulator.
Anyway, the only tuning device it uses is a small 2.5 x 2.5 x .5 inch black box. Hooks up to the typical ECU wires for TPS sensor, fuel, ignition. I just thought it was weird because its plug and play, no tuning necessary and supposively the ECU "learns" to work in conjunction with the black box. There is an external harness if you were to take car to RIPP for them to tune, but otherwise it runs by itself. Is this like black box similar to the way the ZEX kit operates?

The Zex kit does nothing to modify the signals for the sensors to the ecu. It just detects when the TPS is at WOT and changes the fuel pressure. And it's a purple box.
