Default high idle problem

I have a nasty high idle. It happens when car is cold and on first key cycle. The idle stays high even when car is warm. I have to shut the car off and restart after it is warm for it to idle good. Please help

well heres a list of possible causes for erratic idle:
1.) vacuum leak
2.) leaking EGR valve
3.) air filter clogged
4.) leaking head gasket
5.) timing belt and/or pulleys worn
6.) camshaft lobes worn

dunno if this helps at all but ya......hope it does

when I start mine, it idles high, 1500 or so....after it's warm, I tap the gas and the idle returns to normal....after just a little bit if you tap the gas, you'll notice the idle comes down a lil bit, but it won't come all the way down until the engine is warm....I think this is normal, it's done this on all of my previous rides......
