Default Front Engine Mount Poll

All of you who have swapped a b16a into your car, do you use the front mount?(in front of the tranny)

I swapped mine a few months ago and never put the front mount on because it didn't line up. I am using polyurathane mounts and i was told it wouldn't be a problem if i left the front off. I could have a mount created and welded to the frame to match up with the b16 tranny for around $100, so I just wondered what everyone else had done.

You don't need to worry about. I have the place racing engine mounts and front crossmember. I have the front mount but don't use it. It just put way to much stress on my crossmember. So much stress that it cracked in half. But place racing sucks.

The front mount is not needed. Esp with nice aftermarket mounts such as Hasports etc..

I've read that it's not needed but the previous owner of my CRX installed it anyway since it's there. He said it was a bitch but he got it lined up. I also heard that the lack of the front mount *may* contribute to the infamous 3rd gear grind so common with B16 swaps (I don't have this).

No grinds here... with my more torque happy GSR swap. Hasport Mounts ( 3 )

I have seen and driven many swapped EF's. I must say the ones that felt the most solid were the swaps done using the old HCP 4-mount kit. Not saying the others didn't feel good, and there are other factors, but I am a fan of the 4th mount.

I am considered old school cause I still have the HCP Gen III engine brackets. All 4 are bolted up and all the mounts are filled with polyurathane.

My B20 has a bit of trq.... And its really stressing the rear mount, so much that I have broke it 2 times now. And to top it off, the rear x-member is cracking (where mount is bolted up), adding to the stress issues... The mounts are camp1320 who didnt do jack when I told them my issue... So Im getting a jimfab and Im going to have my own custom front mount made to reduce stress on the rear mount, hopefully anyways...

i dont use a front mount on my h22a.

The reason for two mounts is comfort, not strength.. take a look at how soft/flexable the stock mounts are - thats why they have to put two of them!

Blaze45, where is your crossmember cracking??
