It was actually rumored to be here this year, and the year before. So who knows. I would like to see EITHER R come over here. But the demand for the last years of ITR's weren't as great as Honda expected apparently, so who knows.

cause the damn integra was big money. if they could get a civic type r stateside for only a few bucks more than an si it would prolly sell good...

i'd see a CTR selling better here than an ITR. not taking anything away from the ITR, just saying that it's a pretty pricey car new. esp. considering the age groups that like it....

you can get a GT Mustang for that much. Car and Driver did a comparison of the two. and the R was like 6oo more then the Stang.

Well lets see here. In 97 when the type R came out stateside the stang Gt was rocking a 220 hp POS engine and weighed a good deal more than the R. I'm pretty sure the R probably is faster in the quarter as they can hit high 14's stock and I'm pretty sure most of those GT's didn't. but for the sake of argument let's say they are the same speed in the straights. Curves aren't even a comparsion. The R owns it hugely. Then you can get into the rarity issue. Or the fact that you can be fast and still get decent gas mileage. To each their own, but if they were similar in price the R is the obvious choice to buy.

the itr is THE best FWD car i've ever had the pleasure to drive. the mustang was twitchy incompetent 20+ year old chasis.

if you like straight line bursts of speed, great. i'll take a car that shines in the curves and have more fun doing so.

thanx to the federal government, there are so many sanctions held against the import of cars such as the ITR. now they are reviewing a bill to push for more low emission vehicles. california's trying to be an example of such. i still doubt the type R's will ever get a chance to shine again.

I would like to see the CTR or ITS come over to the states...but 25 g's is a bit too high for most ppl. I couldnt even afford an 18 g 04 Si....haha. but why are the emissions so strict in CA?? they are not that strict in TN, in my county, i dont have to even run my car through emissions.

They'd have blown Nissan and Toyota out of the water if they'd brought us the EP3 CTR for $19,600 and the EP3 Si for $16,500.

The margin was there, and the volume would've made up for the rest.

As it was, the 2002-2005 HB was kind of a flop. The EP3 is one of the most unpopular Hondas ever sold in the USDM.

The sticker price just didn't make sense, and it scared a lot of people away who aren't into haggling.

Three of us bought our EP3 for $16,000 that I'm sure of, and there must have been many others. I've heard recently of some '04 EP3 going for as little as $14,000.

They just needed a better price on the car and it'd have sold volume.

If you like those things, wait for the 2006 Cobra. They'll finally get a decent rear suspension on that one.

shouldn't be a problem, honda has it under control. Quote from Auto Web article.

For the first time, the Integra meets LEV standards. HC and NOx exhaust emissions have been significantly reduced, resulting in emissions values 50 per cent lower than levels set by 2000 regulations, giving the Integra the Japanese Ministry of Transport’s “Low Emissions Excellence” award.

ya'll just don't know how to drive a solid-axle car...
i used to throw our 67 Fairlane 390 GT through the twisties on radial tires. it was fun, i've put a 04 GT and stayed on the back of a b18c powered EK?? hatch with numerous suspension upgrades. however, my arms were tired and there was some major pucker factor. the honda was much more rewarding to drive and very smooth (just like an ITR).
but, the new 05 is light-years better...sharing a platform with the jag s-type. on the 97 stang with 220hp, that is true. but, 99 they upped the power to 260hp with a change in intake and a distributor-less ignition.

I dont think these are really rumors but more people's hopes. If Honda brings the CTR to the states obviously common sense would have it that it will cost about 20k. Now think about it. That would be the same price as a base rsx with 40 less hp. There go Base rsx sales.

It would also be about 3-4k less then the RSX type s with only 10 extra hp. There go Type S sales.

Honda would never allow a civic to literally take over the sales of their higher division for that class of car. If, and IF they would ever bring it here, expect a 24k price tag so as not to hurt sales of the RSX.
