how much should a shop charge to put together an lsvtec not parts just to do the labor?

assemble the motor is maybe like 500-700 around there depends where u take it too

Damn, I'll do your motors! $500 is a lot to assemble a motor. I'm getting my hype r motor put together by a shop, with honing and measuring everything, it's $180. Thats just the bottom end, but still, bolting a head on will be nothing.

I guess I get the dealer hookup. I'm using all Honda stuff, too, no weird things to try and fit.

500-700 sounds about right to have someone who knows what there do n to put a Vtec head on an LS block.

hell yah thats insane. Just buy a manual and do that **** youself, or get a friend who knows what the hell they doing. You could use that 500-700 towards more stuff for you car. just my 2 cents

we charge $600 for a full put together. Everything such as puttin piston , cam, check valves clearness make sure its not hittin anything .Everything. All you have to do is put it in and check the timming and your good to go ill would charge you about 200-250 thats plug the hole on the head make the pins bigger re TQ it with a new head gasket and run the oil line

Thats because you know what you are doing. Most average shops have no clue how to get things done correctly when you mis-match components from different engine models, only because of the reference material they have on hand.

my friend is a certified mechanic on imports and does lsvtec swaps all day long. i am assisting him right now since i kind of know my stuff and he is charging me $300. that includes installing 20 over bore wiesco pistons ,eagle rods,block guard, waterpump,oil pump,vtec oil l;ine feed including drilling and tapping, bolting the head on , installing it in my EG , and wiring for vtec
