noise diagnosis/motor probably going to machine shop, what to change????
I'm trying to figure out a ticking noise in my motor, which is not valve related.
This is the deal as of yesterday...My mechanic took off the pan and couldn't see anything obviously wrong.EXCEPT some metal shavings.
Today he's going to check the oil pump and he said while he's there he shouldt take off the head. If he still doesn't find anything wrong he said it will have to go to a machine shop for diagnosis.
My questions is, what should I upgrade/repalce if that is the case. I'm making 173.5 whp/131.2 trq. I have Skunk2 Stage1 cams valve train, mainifold, JDM ITR pistons (10,000 miles old), Hondata, I/H/C/E. Toda Flywheel, clutch...I think that's about it with the mods..Should I go with different pistons, same ones but new, just rings, different pistons, rods? I'm figuring if it's all disassembled, why not..What do you guys think?
