si or hatch??
if you had to choose between the 2 which would u do??
i got the si now, power everything runs good..but i miss my hatch that i sold a few months ago. I do alot of commuting with work, so i need air conditiing and power steering is a big positive when u do alot of traveling. Just a huge thing im having trouble deciding becuz the si just has more luxury factors over teh hatch but i jsut love teh body stylings of teh hatch... damn honda for not giving the hatch and the amenities!!
opinions welcome... i live in jersey so for those east coasters that kno about jerseys shitign streets and weather u understand the conflict

Okay, lets logically think about this.
The SI hatch has more luxury to it for you with the addition of power steering, air conditioning, cruise control, sunrooof, power windows, locks, ecetera. Now while having those added amenities, you also get the higher price tag, maybe high payment if this is on lien, also high insurance no doubt. With the hatch essentially you could add everything the SI has it is just going to take time, the big concern should be resale. The hatch will never resell as much as the SI, but over these years you would have been paying less in all aspects for the hatch. Decide which things are important to you and go from there, if the engine isn't so important the hatch is definitely the way to go, especially if you plan to sell this soon down the line. You really won't have put much money into the hatch power windows, locks, cruise control, whatever. Sunroof isn't all that important anyway.

I like my EM1.
Not a big fan of Hatches. Owned a couple. I like coupes better.
They only other honda I would like to own right now would be a RSX Type S.
EM1 and DC5 are my 2 favourites hondas and are both coupes.

I'm not a huge fan of the Si coup. They're good cars and all, but the theft rate is high, insurance is high, profile is high and they're pretty pricey for what you're getting. I'd get a hatchback, but then again, I lug construction **** and car parts all over the place in my EG, so I couldn't very well sacrifice the utility of a hatchback even if I wanted to.
If you're happy with the Si, keep it. I hope it works out for you in the long run

I went with the hatch... b/c every car I ever had w/ power windows - the windows messed up... and i've never had and don't like a sunroof. You can get a sunroof and power windows and locks from a junkyard. With a little time and a motor swap your hatch too can have it all.
You could get an Si hatch, power steering, a/c, but no power windows and a lot slower. The money you have left over you could buy a B16a2 and be as faster if not faster than your Si coupe imo........

i agree had a coupe sold it for a hatch and went back to a coupe... its hard to find a hatch in good shape nowadays too. the suspension is usually shot to bits.

ya you might have ahard time finding a nice hatch, i would say get a hatch, if needed you could get the pig si hatch and it has a sunroof, a/c, ps, but no power locks/windows, but you could always put them in for around 100 or so bucks, but then again i too am biased
edit: damn u beat me too it

I've always like the coupe look over the hatch eventhough the weight difference is tempting. If you're leaning toward the coupe and want performance and something tunable maybe get a 96-98 EX and drop a B18C1 in and you would get something better than the stock Si coupes in the end, plus insurance would be less because you wouldn't have that "Si" title. That is what I'm in the process of doing. I have an 98 EX which is basically almost identical to the 99-00 Si except for the engine, spoiler, matching side skirts, front bumper, taillights, gauge cluster, ect. So not that much to do for the upgrade to Si and you save with insurance. Just my 2 cents...
